"I bring a group of 12 fishermen across the country every year to flyfish Cape Cod with a stable of guides, from the inner bays and estuaries to the outer flats, to the rips, to the Race, to the fabled Bank. From the first year we used Jeff we knew we had the Race, P-town fishing dialed in. He simply brings the whole package, from a boat that can handle the snot and the marginal days, the navigational aids to find *the spot*, the abillity to use radar to pinpoint birds in the fog, to the *command center* that Jeff is, managing the fishing reports from a network of guides and fishermen all across the Bay. If it is happening withing 40 miles, Jeff knows about it.
And being an accomplished fly fisherman himself, he then knows how to set you up to close the deal.
Knowledge, experience, equiptment, skill and a gut level fishermen's motivation. The whole package."

"What a great day on the water! Capt. Jeff kept us in front of fish all day long. We released four bluefin tuna on topwater light tackle and two on fly gear. Fighting a 140lb bluefin on a 15wt is truly a unique experience. Not bad for the first week in June!"

"I have had the opportunity to fish with many talented guides for a multitude of species in both fresh and saltwater. Hunting stripers and bluefin tuna with Capt. Smith more than a few times over the past 8 years has given me pause to raise my standards as to what constitutes a great fishing guide.
His knowledge of his species, timing of tides, uncanny ability to be in the right place at the right time with the right setup is remarkably consistent and rewarding. As well, his masterful boat handling skills and overall seamanship is without question. Considering some of the waters we have fished in unpleasant conditions, having those skills in your Captain is an asset not to be overlooked. His gear is first rate and always in perfect working order. The onboard terminal tackle and flies are on the money and seasonally adjusted to match the game at hand. Jeff is a terrific teacher of casting technique and angling method and is always up on the latest new thinking and tackle.
The success of any fishing adventure is closely tied to the personality and skill that the guide brings to the water each and every day. Jeff's attitude and boatside manner is one of a serious angler full of fun with a positive approach. A boatload of fish is not a substitute for having a fantastic time. On Fin Addiction with Capt. Smith, I have had both and look forward to many more angling odysseys. With a new boat this years adventure will even be better, hard to believe that's possible, but I'm stoked to step aboard!"

"Over the last 12 years I have had the benefit of having Jeff as my guide and fisherman to emulate. His familiarity with the enviorment, knowledge of his fishery, and general *good guy* with the boat is to be expected as a world class guide,.....but Jeff takes it to the extremes. He is as *dialed in* to his fishery as anyone I can think of, and his ability to teach is remarkable. He is truly the person to trust to take you to the fish, get you home again, and everything in between. I have never felt as safe and *in the hunt* with any other guide or friend as I do with Jeff Smith. I am looking forward to the rest of my life as both his friend and fishing buddy."

"I've been fortunate enough to know Capt. Jeff for nearly 15 years, over which he has been overly generous with his time and knowledge, teaching me how to fish the outer Cape. He is a phenomenal instructor and a world-class guide who, since I've known him, has pioneered countless fisheries, from shallow water stripers to light tackle and fly for bluefin tuna. Given his uncanny knack for finding fish and his constantly innovative approaches, combined with his abilities as a teacher and coach, I can think of no one I would rather spend a day fishing with"

I have been fishing for bluefin tuna with Jeff for almost a decade, starting when we could catch "schoolie" bluefin with a flyrod, continuing to now, when the tuna are testing the limits of top-notch spinning ear. My friends and I enjoy tuna trips with Jeff for many reasons. First, he is a good guy, honest and hardworking, with a good sense of humor. Second, he is a skilled and knowledgeable guide, who works diligently to ensure that his anglers have as positve a fishing experience as possible. In the excitement and emotion of tuna fishing, Jeff can remain calm and focused. For example, on one or our recent trips, Jeff hand-lined in a 66" tuna after the rod broke.
Jeff, who is respected by clients and professional colleagues alike, is a diligent in reviving fish for release as he is in catching them. As with many who fish with him, I think of Jeff as an "old friend" and look forward to our fishing trips. (Jeff even helps us "older guys" land our fish from time to time.) I am comfortable bring a "newbie" on a trip, knowing that Jeff will successfully coach him on what needs to be done. I would wholeheartedly recommend Jeff to anyone interested in fishing with a great guy and guide. While the weather and the fishing will vary, Jeff and his professionalism remain a constant.
